Betty and I were, for many years, colleagues in school nursing in northern Hunterdon County. We frequently phoned each other to share information and thoughts on so many issues that arose daily in our work. Also shared were many rides to meetings of the Hunterdon County School Nurses meetings at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Betty had much experience to share and she was quick to laugh at the silliness of everyday happenings.
I am sorry to hear of her passing and will miss a longtime friend. Peaceful hearts to her family.
As a classmate of Sue, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy on your Mom's passing. I never met her, but she sounded like a nice person. I'm sure she passed away being proud of you, not only for your accomplishments, but knowing she had, and always will have, a nice daughter. I sent word to Rob Frankevich in Alaska about your Mom, and hopefully, you will hear from him, too. Sincerly, Chris Sakos
Mrs. Roll was the nurse at Woodglen School when we first moved into the township. She called me one day when my daughter was injured in gym class. As always she took care of her until I could get there. She was always compassionate, professional and kind in all she did. It was a pleasure to know her. May she be at peace.
I worked with Betty for several years and remember her very fondly. Betty's calm demeanor and penetrating look would sooth a student and assess the situation all at the same time. Betty made a lasting contribution to so many Lebanon Township students.
I have special memories of going to Mrs. Roll's home on Mine Street in High Bridge as a friend of her daughter Susan. We would go sleigh riding in the backyard and always manage to land in the creek. Mrs. Roll would make sure we had warm drinks and we would make popcorn in the fireplace. Many times Susan and I would walk from High Bridge School to her house for lunch.
My thoughts to you Susan and your family.
Love, Terry
