Obituary of Ruth M. Person

Ruth M. Person, age 89 of Manchester, NJ died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Country Arch Care Center in Union Twp. NJ Mrs. Person was born November 29, 1918 in South Bound Brook, NJ the daughter of the late George and the late Mary (nee Naylor) Mehrkam. She cared for foster children and in addition, Ruth worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Katcher at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. She resided in Manchester, NJ for the past 20 years. Throughout her life, Ruth cared for 58 newborn babies for several months until each was adopted. She attended South Ridge Community Church for over ten years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and cooking. She is survived by her Daughter: Joanne Wintermute of Annandale, NJ, her Sons: Jeff Person of Clinton Twp., NJ and Bruce Person of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition, Ruth is survived by: her Sisters, Viola Hansen, Elizabeth Squire and Josephine Kolbeck, 7 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her beloved Husband: Dewey in 1993 and her Sister, Ida Peterson. There will be a Visitation period on Saturday, February 2nd from 9:00 am to 9:30 am at the South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Rd, Clinton, NJ # 908-735-5252. Family & Friends are asked to meet directly at the Church. There will be a Funeral Service following the Visitation period on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am at the Church. Interment will take place at the Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway, NJ.
