Obituary of Paul A. Versarge
Paul A. Versarge, age 59, of Clinton Twp., NJ died Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Versarge was born May 6, 1953 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was the son of the late Anthony and the late Anna (nee Mochan) Versarge.
He resided in Clinton Twp., NJ for the past 36 years and previous to that, he lived in Elizabeth, NJ. Paul was a Police Officer employed by the City of Elizabeth, NJ for many years before retiring.
Paul was an avid model train collector and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Paul and Mary met in May 1972 and were married in September 1977. Paul took Mary on frequent long motorcycle rides when they were dating. Most importantly he cherished his time with his family. He was known for telling jokes and he kept busy with many woodworking projects. He was a former Annandale Volunteer Fireman. He graduated Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, NJ which is since renamed Elizabeth High School.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (nee Kornak) Versarge, his sons; Anthony Versarge & his wife, Rebecca of Bridgewater, NJ and Paul Versarge of Elizabeth, NJ and his brother, Leon Versarge of Elizabeth, NJ
Paul's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Monday, March 4th from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, March 5th at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception RC Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ. Family & friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Tuesday morning. The entombment will immediately follow at the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum on the church grounds.
