Let me tell you about our dear friend who we've known for nearly 40 years.He had a dual personality.Ed laughed about everything (I mean everything)and got everyone else to laugh at the human condition. Ed jovially mocked the absurd pretenses of business yet was the most successful businessman I ever knew.He laughed at religion but was most devout in his love of Christianity and all the good it brought humanity.He saw the weakness in political systems yet fully respected law and order and so loved the country of his birth...intensly. He jested about his many close friends but was as loyal and generous as any person we know. His teasing of Silvia and the children was incessant but no greater love of family could be seen, his family always was the most important and precious thing in his life.
In reading about Ed's life an aspect never highlighted by him was being a Phi Betta Kappa graduate from NYU.His brilliance was quiet but illuminating.
We were so fortunate to have crossed paths with a man who made life funny, exciting and just plain enjoyable. Thanks Ed.
