Obituary of Stephen F. Koss

Stephen F. Koss, age 88, of the Annandale Section of Clinton Twp., NJ died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Hunterdon Hospice in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mr. Koss was born February 4, 1920 in Bayonne, NJ the son of the late Joseph and the late Anna (nee Strugala) Koss. Born & raised in Bayonne, NJ, he resided in Jersey City for many years before moving with his wife to Clinton Township in 1995 to live with their daughter and family. He was a Supervisor/Foreman for City Glass Company in Bayonne, NJ where he worked for many years before retiring at the age of 75. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class, serving from 1942 to 1946. Mr. Koss served in the American, Asiatic Pacific and the European African Middle Eastern Campaigns. Stephen enjoyed swimming at the Jersey Shore, dancing and gardening, fine wines, and spending time with his family and their dog, Autumn. He is survived by his devoted Daughter: Mary & Her Husband John Farah, and grandchildren Jonathan and Anthony of the Annandale Sec. of Clinton Twp., NJ. Also many Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews Mr. Koss was pre-deceased his beloved Wife: Virginia (nee Grisi) Koss in 2004 and in addition he was also pre-deceased by his Brother: Stanley Koss and pre-deceased by his Sisters: Helen Barresi & Loretta Plunges. Visiting Hours will be Tuesday, April 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 9th at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ #908-735-7319. The Interment with Military Honors will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ following the Mass with an approximate 12:15 pm arrival time at the Cemetery gate. Memorials may be made to: St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
