In my minds eye and in my heart, you will always be my darling.Although this may not be the proper venue to reach out to all your friends and family, but then, being conventional has never run in our family. I'd like all of you to know, that the love and support that has been shown to my sister and our family is truly a great source of comfort and will be cherished. Thank you is not nearly enough. With lots of love, Aunt Bethers xoxox

Ben was my best friend through middle school. We managed to get in trouble just about everywhere we went together, from Franklin Township to Hilton Head to the Bahamas, but we always had a blast. I'm devastated to hear of his passing, but I am blessed and forever grateful for the time we had together.

Dear Nancy,
I am Vincent Dianora's mom. We were deeply saddened to hear of Ben's passing. Vincent spent a lot of time at your house, and his friendship with Ben from Franklin Twp. School to North left us with many memories. We will always remember Ben's wit and sense of humor. May he rest in peace, and may you find the strength to smile through your tears at the wonderful memories you have to cherish.

Ben, I just want you to know that we all miss you so much. I'll be thinking of you always, but tonight especially as those of us at BU who were not able to come to say goodbye in NJ get together to celebrate your life. You are truly an unforgettable person and there is an ache in my heart now that I don't think will ever go away. I hope wherever you are that you are keeping everyone laughing as you did for all of us here at BU. I wish that I could have known you longer. My thoughts and sympathy are with your family. Love always

I'm an old friend of Nancy's, from Trenton, and I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. It's tragic. He sounds like quite a character and a bright light. I just wanted to extend my condolences in what is obviously a really difficult time. Again, I'm sorry.

There are no words that I could say to make things better so I will just share what I will always remember about Ben. I met Ben about 6 or 7 yrs ago. He is a close friend of my son, Christian. I didn't know him well but he made an impression on me. I will always remember how bright and compassionate he was- "wise beyond his years" as they say. I am grateful of his friendship with my son and that you (Nancy) welcomed Christian in your home many times over the years. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of you. Michele Alueta

Ben was one of my closest childhood companions and dear cousin. I have so many wonderful memories growing up with Ben from our numerous ski trips to Vermont, to our almost monthly sleepovers. He was always there to make me smile in a way that not many other people could. He was always there to stand up for me. Most importantly, Ben taught me to embrace who I am and never try to be anyone besides myself. Ben was a true individual and a passionate and loving friend and cousin. I wish that we would have been able to graduate from BU together and embark on our journey after college together. I will never forget all the wonderful laughs and memories that we share. I love you Ben.

Ben was our son Peter's best friend at Hopewell Elementary School. Peter was so bummed when Ben moved away after 5th grade but the two of them managed to still get together for many years after. The weeks at Bradley Beach were highlights in Peter's summers. Over the last few years they reconnected on facebook, Peter was so happy about it that he called home saying "you'll never guess who I just talked to!" Ben was a favorite of our entire family. He was witty, lovable, charming, and just so darn smart for such a young kid. We are all stunned by the sudden loss of such a vibrant young man. Our hearts go out to the family. You raised a wonderful son. Nancy: Peter sends a hug to you. You and Ben are in his constant thoughts and prayers. God Bless your family.

I met Ben this past fall in our Spanish class and he quickly became my closest friend in Boston. He was funny and extremely smart. Whether we were arguing about politics, but in a friendly manner, talking about a wide array of other things, or sitting and watching movies or tv, it was always a great time. I will miss him greatly. Boston will not be the same without him. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard this is for you. My thoughts are with you. I know he will not be forgotten.

I am one of Ben's teachers at BU, of his Eastern Religions course. He was in my small discussion group and was consistently one of the sharpest, most critical and creative minds in there. His loss is shocking and a reminder of how precious our time is. Just last week he turned in one of the top midterms in the class. Turns out he was listening carefully after all! What a cool kid...I was so interested in him and looked forward to his term paper to see what was cooking in that sharp mind. My deepest condolences and regrets go to his family and close friends. He is missed in the classroom. Jenn

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon or why you left before we were ready to say good bye, but little by little, we will begin to remember not just that you died but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget".
These words gave me the strength to get out of bed many mornings and helped me to focus on my son's life. I hope you too can find some strength from them. My heart is breaking for you.
