Linda was my mother, and I never realized how special she was until I read these comments. I knew she was smart, athletic, and kind but I never knew how rare it was to have all these characteristics in one person.
And I thank all the people who have said their thoughts and memories about my mother.

Linda was one of the smartest, kindest, funniest and talented people that I have met. She was a determined athlete and scholar with a wicked sense of humor! I am honored to have known Linda and her Mom and Dad who never missed a game!

Dear Family,
I went to BUcknell with Fergie and we played on the women's basketball team together for one season. My freshman year, her sophomore year. I just learned of her passing as we tried to gather old teammates for an alumin game eary in 2010.
The picture on this site shows how beautiful she was
and the memories of her unmatched sense of humor just make me bust out in tears.
I recall stretching before practice on the wood floor in Davis gym and she taught me to REALLY do the back stretches after
telling me how they were THE BEST. I still use them to this day.
As a player she was fast and fun and intense.
As a team mate she was a crackup and I admired her for her independence. We shared many hilarious times on the court and off. I will always think of her fondly and I promise to kiss and hug my 4 kids today and think of Fergie and how preciuos our time together here is.
My sincere condolences on the loss of such a wonderful spirit. I also thank the Lord for sharing her with us since she clearly touched all of us at Bucknell.
Love,
Lorraine Schadt

I just learned of Linda's passing when I was trying to track her down to include her in a reunion with her old Bucknell basketball team. It has been over 20 years since I last saw Fergie, and I know she was smiling, laughing and making all of us laugh with her. I will share the sad news with all her old teammates.

Linda was a wonderful mother. Linda and Bob threw the best birthday parties for the boys with everything perfected down to the smallest details. Her love for the boys was always obvious and she always spoke in a proud way about them...their pinewood derby cars, their excellence in chess, and how they excelled in school. She will be missed.

Over the past year or so, I have mentioned to my sister on a few occasions that I have been thinking about Linda Ferguson recently - the times we spent delivering The Bulletin (I substituted for her when she was busy - I knew the route so well) and the many games of Battleship we played. Those memories are good memories for me. I told my sister that I was very much looking forward to touching base with Linda in the near future. Every time I bring out the Battleship game to play with my nieces and nephews - it always reminds me of the games we played in your den (and my nieces and nephews never finish a game - LInda and I finished our games!) I will always remember these memories - and wish that our busy lives hadn't gotten in the way of connecting sooner.
My thoughts and prayers are with Linda's family.

Mrs. Ferguson, Glenn, Gail & Larry - I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of Linda. When I received the news, all I could see was her beautiful smile and knew instantly that heaven had another angel. I have many treasured memories of going through Belhaven/Mainland with Linda and especially of growing up on Schoolhouse/Morris Ave. with all of you. To Bob, Gregory & John - although we have never met, please accept my heartfelt sympathy and know there are so many people who knew and loved Linda and share your loss. She will always be with you, you just have to look, listen and feel. May God Bless You in the days and years ahead with loving, lasting memories that your hearts will always treasure.

I cannot express my sadness regarding Linda's passing. I remember her since she was a baby and me and my family enjoyed watching her grow into a dynamic woman.

Linda....I've tried so many phrases to express the shock and sadness but I just can't do it.
It's a little strange but on 10/15/09 as I finished my meal, I looked at the plate and it reminded me of the time at my dad's house when you and I were eating cake. When I was finished, the smear from the icing had made a cool looking design and you asked me, what would I call it? and I answered "finished". It made me smile as I thought about remembered you.
I remember all the movies and concerts we went to, your brazen travel adventures (I will always look back on that in awe because you were so fearless!) and that weekend at Bucknell with Nancy and Pat. We had a lot of fun.
Girl, you lived life greatly.
Bob-your family is in our hearts with prayers for comfort and peace today and for strength for tomorrow. Our hearts ache with you.
With love so heavy, it hurts,
Bob & Terri Gawle

I grew up with Linda in Linwood playing softball and basketball together. We had so many wonderful fun-filled memories through the years. One of the best... was sleeping over Fergie's house ( a friday night) after the Ocean City game and having to play Vineland the next Saturday morning. We were late and were slidding down the hill toward Mainland trying not to be too late! Fergie always pushed you to do your best no matter what. I haven't seen her in years, but when I heard about her, so many childhood and high school memories came to mind. Her family will be in my prayers. May God Bless You in the days ahead!
Sincerely,
Karen Bruno

Hi Linda,
Getting to know you at music class and then sharing rides to and from music with our children was a memory I will cherish. Hearing of your passing was shocking to say the least. I wish I had called you earlier to say that you were on my mind. I always enjoyed your company. So soft spoken, so thoughtful. God bless your family. My prayers will always be with you. Fondly,
Jennifer

Linda was a wonderful mother and friend. My son was friends with Gregory and John during the preschool years. I was always so impressed with her involvement with her children and the crafts and projects that they worked on together. She was a very devoted, caring, and loving mother. She set an example for me that I could only hope to live up to. She will be missed dearly.
