Obituary of Irene V. Leon

Irene (nee Verity) Leon, age 94, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Country Arch Care Center.  Born October 4, 1927 in Baldwin Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Verity and the late Cora (nee Hinkel) Verity.

Irene was married to her beloved husband of 62 years, Samuel Leon who passed away in 2010.  Together they had a daughter, Diane Leon, who passed away in 2004. She was a hardworking woman.  Irene and Samuel owned and operated Leon's Sod Farms, located in Franklin Township, NJ. She worked as the office manager. Irene was a member of the Oak Summit School Historical Society.  When she had downtime, Irene enjoyed camping and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Irene will be forever missed by her granddaughters; Jamie Wadle and her husband Rudy, and Christine Smith and her husband Chuck, great grandchildren; Rudy Wadle, Logan Wadle, Cayden Wadle, Madison Smith, and AJ Smith.

Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband, Samuel Leon (2010), daughter; Diane Leon (2004), sister; Elsie Kocsis, and brother; Henry Verity.

A graveside service will be held on Monday December 6, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Little York Mount Pleasant Road, Milford NJ 08848.
