Obituary of Gary E. Majeski

Gary Edward Majeski, age 56, of Union Twp., NJ (Hunterdon County) died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Mr. Majeski was born September 27, 1954 in Perth Amboy, NJ, the son of the late Edward and the late Eleanor (Pescinski) Majeski. Gary resided in Union Twp. for the past 9 years and previous to that, he lived in Perth Amboy. He was a payroll accountant employed by Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. A man of great but simple faith, Gary's trust in the Lord was unshakable. Gary shared a passion for travel with his wife, Venus, and together they visited all seven continents. For years they would celebrate New Year's Eve in Vienna, waltzing at the Kaiserball. They ventured to Antarctica to watch the penguins and on to Hudson Bay to photograph the polar bears. Gary was renowned for his great skill as a chocolatier. He studied his craft at many prestigious schools, including the French Culinary Institute. His family and friends will miss his handcrafted chocolates which were inspired creations. Gary loved classical music, quiet evenings by the fire, the majesty of nature and all God's creatures. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. Gary is survived by his cherished wife of 34 years, Venus (Yavor) Majeski; his sister, Donna Siregar of Perth Amboy; his mother-in-law, Geraldine Yavor of Edison, NJ; a niece, Stacy; nephews Jonathan and Edward; a great-nephew and five godchildren. He will also be missed by his beloved Westie terrier, Katie. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, January 22nd from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 30 Main Street, Hampton, NJ #908-537-2221 followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Ann's Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities, 10 Oak Drive, Roosevelt Park, Edison, NJ 08837 or to Life Choices, 411 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
