Obituary of Roberta Marie Crowley
Roberta Marie Crowley, age 89, formerly of High Bridge, NJ died Sunday, June 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Country Arch Care Center in Union Twp., NJ. Mrs. Crowley was born September 16, 1923 in Zarepath, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Earl and late Bertha Johnson Hibler.
She resided in High Bridge, NJ for many years. Roberta was a local telephone operator, a waitress at Johnny's Truck Stop and also worked at the State School Cottages in Clinton, NJ. Mrs. Crowley enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family and listening to Johnny Mathis & Barry Manilow albums. She was a foster grandmother for many years which she found particularly rewarding.
Roberta is survived by her devoted daughters; Joyce Dexheimer & her husband, Kevin of Erwinna, Pa., Diane Nichols & her companion, Carl Schutts of Glen Gardner, NJ and Judy Crowley of Glen Gardner, NJ. Additional survivors include her sister, Maxine Smith of North Carolina, her cherished grandchildren; Racquel Crowley, Kelly Crowley, and Jr Nichols & his, wife, Erica and her precious great granddaughter, Alexa Nichols. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Jr. in 1983 and her son, Allan in 1986.
Roberta's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday, June 13th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral service held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 13th also at the Funeral Home. The interment will immediately follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton, NJ.
