Charles Englert, Jr,

Obituary of Charles Phillip Englert, Jr,

Charles Phillip Englert Jr. of Washington, NJ passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home.  He was under the watchful care of Hunterdon Hospice.

Charles was born February 8th, 1947, along with his twin sister, Carole in Newark, NJ, son of Charles Phillip Sr. and Mary Masaitis Englert.

Charles lived in Union and graduated Union High School, class of 1965. He was a union ironworker with Ironworkers Local #11 out of Newark from 1969 until his retirement in 2001.  He was a wonderful father to his two sons.  Having a captive audience at the end of a private road in beautiful Lebanon Township he taught them both how to work, and work hard, along with coaching them in soccer, baseball and basketball.  He bestowed all of his knowledge upon them and asked nothing in return but their devotion to getting things done and done right in life.

He loved to tinker in his workshop and work on his cars. If it was broken, he could fix it, re-engineer it, or create it.  He also loved taking care of his house and property and grounds around his house, ‘lawning the mow’ as the boys used to say when they were little.  Not a blade of grass was out of place.

He will forever be missed by his loving wife of 52 years and high school sweetheart, Carol Ann (nee Sickinger); his son Craig Alan Englert of Lebanon Twp. NJ, wife Dara Englert, grandson Ethan Craig and granddaughter Brooke Makena and son Brian Edward Englert of Northfield,NJ, wife Kathryn Englert, granddaughter Kamryn Jane and grandson Lukas Arlo.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his first born child, Caren Lynn Englert, his twin sister Carole Englert and his sister Elaine Filippone.

All services at this time will be held privately under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.martinfh.com
