Obituary of Francis X. Render
Francis Xavier Render, 85, passed away on June 7, 2022 at his home in High Bridge, New Jersey. He is survived by his loving sisters Theresa Woods and Marguerite Barre, brother-in-law Francis Barre, sister-in-law Jean Render, and his 33 nieces and nephews, as well as many more great-nieces and nephews.
Francis is predeceased by and reunited in death with his loving parents Bertha H. (Reilly) and John A. Render, his siblings Bertha (Render) Bishop, John Render, Robert Render and Kenneth Render.
Francis (Frank) Render was born in Hoboken, New Jersey. He graduated from A.J. Demarest High School in Hoboken and served in the U.S. Army. He loved New York City where he lived for many years on Christopher Street, had a career in banking and, for a short time, co-owned a bar. In his own words: “I worked at One, Two and Four World Trade Center. I loved those buildings and, on Saturdays and Sundays, varied my five mile run to circle the World Trade Center. It was lovely on those quiet mornings, just me and the pigeons out at 5:30 AM. The beautiful buildings picking up the first rays of the Sun. I never felt, so alive as I did on those mornings.”
After retiring from banking, Frank moved to Las Vegas to be near his brother and then returned to New Jersey, where he was employed as a Bayada Home Health Aide. Frank was a member of the Jaycees, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. A devout Catholic, he was an altar boy at St. Joseph’s Church in Hoboken, and, most recently, a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ.
Frank loved classical music, Broadway musicals, good Italian food, Yankee baseball, Giants Football, his large extended family, and his cats. He enjoyed traveling, particularly his trip to Greece, and he cherished his visit to Our Lady of Lourdes in France.
Frank had an extraordinarily generous spirit, compassion for humans and animals, a quick wit and a teasing nature, and a memorable laugh. His love came with no judgment. Having had no children of his own, he simply belonged to all of us, and he will be deeply missed.
