Ada Roth

Obituary of Ada Frances Roth

Ada Frances (Corn) Roth, age 90, of Lebanon Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born February 21, 1932, in Willimantic, CT, she was the daughter of the late Sara and Abraham Corn.

Ada met her husband, Charles Roth, aka “Jeep”, in high school and married him on June 27, 1954, in Hartford, CT.  They moved to NJ shortly thereafter and lived there through their entire marriage. Together they raised a daughter, Amy, who she adored. She was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Rachel, and cherished her role as nana. Ada and Charles would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary at the end of this month.

Ada grew up in Willimantic and Waterbury, CT and graduated from Willimantic State Teachers’ College in 1954. She dedicated her career to teaching grammar school children in Cranford and Clinton, NJ.  In 1991, she was fortunate to retire at the young age of 59.

Ada stayed very active in her retirement serving her community.  For over 20 years she worked at the Bunnvale Library, volunteered at the Hunterdon Medical Center, and delivered Meals on Wheels.  She was a true social butterfly, always out and about visiting relatives, meeting friends for breakfast or lunch, going to the movies, playing cards or Scrabble, traveling around the country and outside the country.  She grudgingly gave up driving less than two years ago.

Ada is predeceased by her mom and pop, Sara and Abraham Corn; and her brothers-in-law Richard, Sorrell, and Sidney Roth.

Ada will be forever missed by her husband, Charles; daughter, Amy; beloved granddaughter, Rachel; brother and sister-in-law, Jules and Penny Corn; sisters-in-law, Barbara Roth and Marilyn Roth; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

All services were held privately by her family at the Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.
