Obituary of Lorraine Burton Marran

Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ - #908-879-3090 or www.williamjleberfh.com Lorraine Burton Marran, age 73, of Califon, NJ died Monday, April 18, 2011. Mrs. Marran was born July 18, 1937 in Ocala, Fl. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Paul and the late Florence (Eckel) Burton. She resided in Califon, NJ for over 20 years and previous to that, she lived in Bernardsville, NJ & Weston, CT. She was the co-founder and Vice President of Energy Kinetics in Lebanon, NJ. In addition, Lorraine was a teacher and a writer. She was a graduate of Ocala High School in Florida and received a B.A. from the University of Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Marran Brumlik of Branchburg, NJ, her sons: Roger Marran & his wife, Nadine of Oldwick, NJ, David Marran & his wife, Wendy of Durham, CT, Kenneth Marran & his wife, Lynn of Mendham, NJ; her sisters, Kathleen Romann & Sylivia Burton and her brother, Phillip Burton. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Peter Brumlik, Amy Brumlik, Christian Marran, Erik Marran, Sonia Marran, John Marran, Sarah Marran, Olivia Marran, Abigail Marran, Samuel Marran, Julianna Marran and Cecelia Marran. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, John Demarre Marran in 2007 and her brother, Howard Douglas Burton. The Visitation will take place on Monday, April 25th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ - (908) 879-3090. There will be a Funeral Mass held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 26 at St. Luke's Parish, 265 W. Mill Road, Long Valley, NJ - (908) 876-3515. Family & Friends are invited to meet directly at the Church on Tuesday morning. The Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Old Allerton Road in Clinton Twp., NJ. Memorial Donations may be made to the Hunterdon County Library, 314 State Route 12, Flemington, NJ 08822.
