Obituary of Joan Hall Keil
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joan Hall Keil, 83, of Pittstown NJ, formerly of Willingboro, NJ. Born on January 25, 1939 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late W. Harold and Dorothy (Moebus) Hall, and mother of the late Kirsten Keil Barton.
Joan graduated from Nutley High School in 1956. She was a loving stay at home mom and a dedicated and devoted mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them, especially her role as Nana.
Joan loved all of her Golden Retrievers, but in particular her last one Archibald. She also enjoyed cheering on college sports (especially Syracuse, West Virginia, and JMU), her daily crossword puzzles, and viewing various wildlife in her backyard. She looked forward to road trips to visit family or vacation – which included trips to New England to visit her daughter Kirsten, visits with her grandchildren, or just weekends away from home.
Surviving is her husband, Alfred Keil, whose 59th wedding anniversary they celebrated on November 23, 2022. Also surviving is her daughter Erika Babcock and husband Robert of Pittstown NJ, and their children Douglas and Sarah. She is also survived by sisters Sallie Rubulotta of Seaside Park NJ, and Nancy Minutoli and husband Robert of Verona NJ.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ. Viewing hours will begin at 10:00am until time of service at noon.
