Obituary of Jean Chandler Smith

Jean Chandler Smith, age 86, of Annandale, NJ died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Pine Run Health Center in Doylestown, PA.. Jean was born May 10, 1925 in London, England. She was the daughter of the late Henry and the late Ethel (Blume) Threadgold. Mrs. Smith came to the United States in 1958. She lived in West Lafeyette Indiana, Morristown and Mendham NJ before coming to Annandale, NJ in 1976. During World War II, Mrs. Smith was an ambulance driver for the Civil Defense in London England. She was also a visitor liaison for The Marconi Company in Chelmsford, England. After coming to the United Sates, She was an Executive Secretary at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She later was the School Administrator at Saint John The Baptist School in Mendham, NJ and was a site manager at Liberty Village Associates in Flemington, NJ. Mrs. Smith was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Pittstown NJ. She is survived by her husband of 52 yrs.: John Ineson Smith , one daughter: Lesley Jane Ineson Smith of New Glarus, WI and one son: Paul Henry Chandler Smith of Boise, ID. Mrs. Smith also has one granddaughter, Leland Mei-Lan Smith of Boise, ID. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 PM May 25th at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 2 Race Street, Pittstown, NJ.
