Obituary of Rachel Murdoch Compton
Rachel Murdoch Compton, 72 of Clinton, NJ died June 23, 2011 at home. She was born February 18, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pa. The daughter of the late Robert P. and Helen Parsons Murdoch.
She spent her early years in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mount Lebanon. She graduated from Sullins College with an Associate Degree in fine arts, then did additional study at the Corcoran Museum School of Art. She also received an Associate Degree in Marketing from Raritan Valley Community College. Rachel was employed as a library assistant by the Grandin Library in Clinton, the Washington Borough Library and the Hunterdon Library.
She is survived by her husband of 50 plus years, John D. Compton, a daughter, Lisa E. Shertz of Boulder, Colorado and a son, Mark A. Compton of Eugene, Oregon. She was pre-deceased by her sisters; Carol Maynard and Martha Spindler.
There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 am with Interment of her Cremated Remains at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton, NJ. Family & Friends are invited to meet DIRECTLY at the Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Martin Funeral Home of Clinton, NJ.
