Obituary of Dorothy E. Andres

Dorothy E. Andres, age 85, of Union Township, NJ died Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mrs. Andres was born July 21, 1925 in Edison. She was the daughter of the late Fred and the late Wilhelmina (nee Strand) Metzger. She resided in Union Twp., NJ for the past 43 years. Dorothy was a Reading Teacher for the Manville Public School System for many years and more recently she was a Professor at Raritan Valley Community College. She Graduated suma cum laude from Ohio State University in 1942 with a Bachelors of Arts in English & Physical Education. In addition, she recieved her Masters Degree from Rutgers University in Psychology & Education. Mrs. Andres was a member the Union Twownship Senior Citizen Club and the Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Stewartsville, NJ She is survived by her devoted daughter, Leslie Lawson & her husband, Cary of Watsontown, Pa., her cherished grandchildren; Chenoa, Justin & Sara, her Great-Grandson, William and her faithful feline companion, Jenna. She was predeceased by her husband, George Andres in 1975 and her companion, Peter Korpi in 2007 The Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 28th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Service held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 29th also at the Martin Funeral Home. The Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Franklin Township, NJ.
