Obituary of Andrew Dalpe

Andrew Dalpe, age 64, passed away on Friday July 14, 2023, at the Robert Wood Johnson medical center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, after a drawn-out battle with leukemia. Born on January 15, 1959, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Cozze) Dalpe, Andy was a lifelong resident and lover of Glen Gardner and a Life Member of the Glen Gardner Fire Department. 

 

Andy was a machinist for the Luciano Packaging Company for many years. He loved and cherished his dogs and his family, including trap shooting with his brother Mike. He enjoyed maintaining the historic Hunt House and his abundant garden, where he and his partner Wally had also run antique and art gallery businesses. He was an avid fan of the NJ Devils Hockey team and the Clemson College Football team. A highlight of this includes his winning a Mercedes car from the Devils in 2004. 

 

Andy is predeceased by his brother Joseph (2020); his partner Wally Barnette (2009), who he joined in marriage on August 25, 2007; and his in-laws Ellie and Norma Barnette. 

 

Andy is survived by: his loving siblings, including sister Catherine Case and her husband Robert of Lopatcong Twp.,NJ; brothers Michael Dalpe and his wife Debra of Hampton, NJ; Paul Dalpe and his wife Alicia of Hampstead, NC; and sister Lynn Benedek and her husband Thomas of Westport, PA; sisters-in-law Linda of Boonville, NY and Mary-Jo Hair in Russellville, SC; aunts Louise Opperman, Janet Dalpe, and Donalda Alexander (Lester); nieces and nephews: Chuck (Maryellen), Rachel (Rhodes and daughter Juniper), Jessica (Ryan), Madison (Larry and son Raylan), Quinn, Michael (Rob), Alexandra (Colin); and many dear friends, including Kevin Cooper, Will Hubscher, Polixeni Katsaros, Faith Procter, and Ellen Siegal.
