Obituary of Lillian E. Vasta

Lillian E. “Dolly” Vasta, age 93, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Little Brook Nursing Home, located in Lebanon Township NJ, a place she gladly called home for almost 3 years. Dolly was born in Newark, New Jersey and resided most of her life in East Brunswick, New Jersey. 

Dolly loved the arts and helped create and build the East Brunswick Community Players, along with the original Playhouse 22 in East Brunswick, New Jersey.  She also hosted an award-winning local TV show “For Art’s Sake” for over 15 years and was known for being a key component in the New York Children’s Theater Group, where she performed in many shows over the years.  Dolly worked as a talent agent in Manhattan and later became the first Arts Coordinator for East Brunswick Township.

Dolly is pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph Vasta, and her son Steven Vasta.  She leaves behind her son Thomas Vasta and his wife Donna of Washington State, her daughter Sally Kasulanis, of Glen Gardner, New Jersey and her son, Richard Vasta and his wife, Kim, of Monroe Township, New Jersey.  Dolly is also survived by her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 24th at 12:00 PM, at the Pluckemin Presbyterian Church, located at 279 Route 202, Pluckemin, NJ 07921. Relatives and friends may visit with Dolly’s family from 11:00 am until the service begins at noon in the church.  Private family internment to follow the service. All services will be held directly at the church under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton NJ. To send condolences to the family please visit www.martinfh.com
