Harold Krell, Jr

Obituary of Harold L. Krell, Jr

Harold L. "Hal" Krell, Jr, 78, of Clinton, NJ, passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2023, at Complete Care at Green Knoll. Hal was born on October 20, 1944, in Jersey City, NJ, and was the son of the late Harold and Florence (née Kaman) Krell.

Hal grew up in Union City, and was a graduate of St. Anthony High School, Class of 1962. He spent over forty years performing various roles in the heathcare and pharmaceutical marketing industries.

Hal lived in multiple states throughout his life but moved to Clinton in 2016 so he could be near his family, including his twin granddaughters, Casey and Emily, with whom he loved spending as much of his time as possible.

An avid sports fan, Hal could often be found watching football on Sundays as he cheered on his beloved NY Giants.  A self-proclaimed baseball junkie, Hal rarely missed a Yankees game and during the period that he lived in West Palm Beach, FL, Hal spent many nights taking in games at the minor league ballpark.

Hal translated his love of sports into helping kids in need.  Over the years, Hal did volunteer work for both the Ed Block Courage Awards: https://edblock.org/ and Derek Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation: https://www.mlb.com/turn-2-foundation

Hal is survived by his beloved son, Michael Krell and his wife Cathy; twin 9 year old granddaughters, Casey and Emily.

Friends and relatives are invited to gather with Hal's family, on Saturday, August 26th, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Hal's memory may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering (Please Click Here to Donate on Hal's Behalf) to help continue their research and provide others with the same fantastic care that Hal received during his treatments.
