Obituary of Irene Brignola

Irene Brignola, age 92, of Brick, NJ passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 at her daughter's home in High Bridge, NJ. Irene was born November 12, 1918 in New York, NY. She was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Anna Maria (VanEeckhoven) Comnos. Mrs. Brignolas was a chef for Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, NJ for 26 years before retiring. She has been living in Brick, NJ since 1984 and was a rosarian at St. Justin Church in Brick. She was previously of Belleville, NJ. She enjoyed reading, gardening and she was an excellent cook. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by two daughters: Irene Veneziano and husband Gerald of High Bridge, NJ, Anna Maria France and late husband Arthur of South Toms River, NJ; her grandchildren, Patrick, Tracy, Matthew, Gerard and Paul; her great grandchildren, Jade, Damian, Lisa, Sofia, Julia, Michael and Breanna; her sisters: Julia and Ethel; her sister-in-laws, Esther, Lucy and Rose and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ciro; her brothers, Theodore, Nicholas And Henry, and her granddaughter, Lisa. The Visitation will take place Monday, August 1st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass held on Tuesday August 2nd at 10:00am - at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801 - #908-735-7319.
