Obituary of Shirley A Sarnowski

Shirley A. (nee Barham) Sarnowski, age 83, of Belvidere, NJ, formerly of Lebanon, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Born November 5, 1940, in McAlester, OK, to the late Thestle A. Barham and the late Thelma (nee Hammers) Barham. 

Shirley was a graduate of McAlester High School.  She married Chester Sarnowski, on February 14, 1960. Together, they raised three children: Chet, Deborah, and Chris, whom she adored. Shirley cherished her family and loved spending time with them, especially her seven grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

Shirley love to spend time outdoors, walking or gardening, bird watching, vacations at the beach with family, Palm Springs, playing cards with family or friends, and spending time with all of her Shar Peis over the years.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her children, Chet Sarnowski and his wife Desiree, Deborah Derwid and her husband Kurt, Chris Sarnowski and his wife Patty; brothers, Robert Barham and his wife Sami, Richard Barham and his wife Norma; and her grandchildren, Alyssa, Blake, Demaree, Kurt, Jacob, Christopher, and Tyler.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Shirley's family, on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. Burial service will be held privately by Shirley’s family. To send condolences to the family please visit www.martinfh.com.
