Obituary of Dennis James Durnin

Dennis passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024.  The oldest of five children, he grew up in Chatham N.J and attended Chatham High School.  He graduated from St. Leo University and went on to a career as a senior sales executive with major companies including Bosch and SubZero/Wolf.  His enthusiasm and energy earned him many awards. He was passionate about sports of all kinds, but especially golf and he would have played every day if he could have.  He took every opportunity to spend time outdoors and would go for long bike rides to enjoy the beauty of the countryside.  Dennis also avidly followed all forms of auto racing, especially NASCAR, Indy Car and Formula 1.

Dennis loved his family above all else and was loved in return.  He managed his illness with uncommon grace and independence.  His courage, resilience and great humor during it was an inspiration to his family. He was predeceased by his parents Ann & Bernard and leaves behind his siblings, Eileen Campos (Paul), Sheila, Diane, Neil (Mary) and nieces and nephews, Travis, Mary Kate and Jonathan. His loss will leave a huge hole in our lives.  

Mass of Catholic Burial will be offered on, Thursday February 22^nd at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, located at 85 Washington Avenue, Chatham NJ. Immediately following mass, the family will be holding a repast at the Archer Hotel, located at 130 Park Avenue, Florham Park, NJ. Arrangements are under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton NJ.
