Obituary of Rhoda L. Santangelo

Rhoda L. Santangelo, age 85, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 20, 2024, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. 

Rhoda, was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ. On January 26, 1957, Rhoda began a beautiful life with Jon J. Santangelo, they would celebrate 67 wonderful years together. They raised 3 beautiful children, Debbie, Jon, and Scott. Before settling in Bethlehem Twp, Rhoda and Jon lived for many years in Bridgewater.

Rhoda loved interior designing and would carry that passion her whole life. She designed many rooms for her friends’ homes and their places of business. One of her greatest moments was designing the interior of the previous ballroom at the Grand Colonial on route 173. Rhoda also owned and operated her own store front in Clinton called Dove Hollow and Clinton Antique and Design. She would run her store for over 18 years. She and Jon would travel all over the country finding many different high-end items to buy and sell in her store.

Rhoda was a member of the Junior Woman’s Club of Plainfield, as well as a member of Allied Board of Trade. She loved to travel but most of all she loved being with her family.

Rhoda will be forever cherished by her beloved husband of 67 years, Jon J. Santangelo, Sr.; daughter, Debbie Trubin and her husband Jay; sons, Jon J. Santangelo, Jr. and his wife Roxann, Scott Paul Santangelo and his wife Vicki; grandchildren, Tiffany, Laura, Jon, Justin, Jennifer, Nicole, Brittani, Scott and Enzo; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Dylan, Violet, Madelyn and Nico. Her brother William Smith predeceased her.

Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, February 27th at 11:00 AM, at The Church of Saint Ann, located at 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
