Obituary of Mary (Lake) Ternosky Snyder

Mary (Lake) Ternosky Snyder, age 79, of Glen Gardner, NJ passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Mary was born September 25, 1932 in Scranton, PA. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Thayne Lake Sr. and the late Marcella Josephine Genevieve Luby. She has been living in Glen Gardner for over 50 years. Mary worked at Foster Wheeler Corp. in Clinton as a Drafts Person for ten years before retiring. Most recently she worked at the 101 Foundation in Washington, NJ. Mary was an active member of St. Ann's Church in Hampton where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. She had a passion for dance for which she received numerous awards. She was Founder and Leader of the 4H Square Dance Club called the Hunterdon Hayshakers. She was also Founder and Leader of the Lehigh Valley Cloggers and earned her CCI, (Certified Clogging Instructor) in 2003. She dedicated her life to teaching people to dance, no matter how young or old. Mary was very creative. She was a painter and sewer. Mary was also a Lifetime Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5119. She is survived by her children Paul Ternosky of Easton, PA., James Ternosky of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Hedrick and Sally Starke of Reading , PA, Joseph and Thomas Ternosky of Glen Gardner, NJ; step-children, Donna and Thomas Snyder; her 8 Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Peter Ternosky, second husband Thomas Snyder, and brother Ray Lake Jr.. The Visitation will be Monday, October 3rd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Martin Funeral Home in Clinton. A Funeral Mass wiil be held on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ. Interment will be at St. Ann's Cemetery on church grounds. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ 08827.
