Obituary of Tyler T. Simanski

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Tyler Thomas Simanski, who we often affectionately called “T”, “T-Man” or “T Boss.” Tyler, age 26, departed our lives unexpectedly on Friday, May 24th and left behind a void that can never be filled. Tyler will be deeply missed by all those who knew him and whose lives he touched by his kindness, compassion and love.

Tyler was born on July 10, 1997, in Somerville, NJ to Sandra Sutton-Lavis and Scott Simanski. He grew up in Glen Gardner, NJ until moving to Erwinna, PA in 2019 where he resided until his death. After graduating from Voorhees High School in 2015, he went on to major in Creative Writing at Fairleigh Dickinson University earning his BA in 2019. While in school, Tyler enjoyed participating in the drama club and choir.

Tyler was passionate about writing, anime and was creating his own animated television series. He was an active member of the Bucks County Writers Group. Tyler also enjoyed theatre, walking or biking along the Delaware River, spending time at the New Jersey Shore and traveling with his family. He loved his “puppies” Cassie and Ellie who greeted him affectionately every day. Tyler was skilled at playing video games and on the rare occasion someone beat him, it made the family headlines.

Tyler’s claim to fame was his massive collection of Nintendo Game consoles and video games. He could never pass up a console or game at a flea market or yard sale that he could attempt to resurrect. Tyler had his own gaming room dedicated solely to his treasured collection.

Tyler will be forever loved by his devoted mother, Sandra Sutton-Lavis; step-father, Tom Lavis; brother and best friend, Brandon Simanski and his wife Jesse Miller; sister and confidant, Mikayla Simanski and her fiancé Justin Zaffino; girlfriend, Briana Major; grandparents, Carol and Bob Heller, Jimmy Sutton, Phil Wengryn, Joyce Lavis and Pamela Maguire; aunts and uncles, Wayne and Laurie Sutton, Phil and Amie Wengryn, Eric Wengryn and Brent Strasbaugh, Candy and Ed Block, Lauri and Adam Chandler, Blair and Rebecca Simanski; and his many, many cousins. Tyler was predeceased by his father, Scott Simanski and uncle, Arthur Sutton.

Relatives and friends may visit with Tyler’s family on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A private interment will be held following the visitation for Tyler’s immediate family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be creating a Memorial Scholarship in Tyler’s name and are asking that donations be mailed to Sandra Sutton-Lavis, PO Box 219, Erwinna, PA 18920.
