Obituary of Rosemary Thomas

Rosemary Thomas (nee Flynn), of Pattenburg NJ, passed away on May 29, 2024 at home. Born on November 10, 1942 in Cliffside Park, NJ she was the daughter of the late Eugene W. Flynn and the late Isabella Fletcher Flynn. Rosemary was married to the love of her life for 27 years, Richard Thomas, who predeceased her in 2010. Together, they raised 2 treasured children, Doreen and Richard. 

Rosemary was a 1960 graduate of Cliffside Park High School. Upon graduating, Rosemary furthered her education and began a career as a secretary in New York City, prior to her most fulfilling job as a full-time Mom. Rosemary later returned to work as a manager for AT&T, earning numerous awards and accolades before retiring in 1998. Rosemary supported local Fire & Rescue departments, also serving as Historian for her local Rescue Squad for a few years.

In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and doting on her beloved pets, as she had a deep love for animals. Rosemary loved watching the Hallmark channel or her favorite movie, The Quiet Man, and was deeply proud of her Irish heritage. Rosemary was legendary for many things, the most important were her fierce love for her family, her sense of humor, her famous Kielbasa & Sauerkraut, and her Chocolate Crème Pie.

As a deeply compassionate person, Rosemary had a never-ending drive to provide love and care to everyone she knew. She was affectionately known to many as "Aunt Ro" or "Mom". 

Rosemary will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Doreen Miller (Michael Lingvall) of Minneapolis, MN, son Richard Maliszewski (Lauryn Nolan) of Pattenburg, NJ, and was a proud grandmother to Christopher Miller of Clinton, NJ. She is also survived by her bonus grandchildren, Ava and RJ Mohr of Tamiment, PA and their parents Maureen and Rob, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, Richard, and her parents, Rosemary is predeceased by her brother Eugene Flynn Jr., sister Sharon Henry and her husband George, and sister Maureen Giles and her husband Robert.
