Thomas Brennan

Obituary of Thomas S. Brennan

Thomas S. Brennan, aged 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 10, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thomas was born on June 7, in Boston, MA, and moved to Elizabeth, NJ, not long after where he spent his formative years. He spent many summers in Frampton, Quebec helping on his family’s farm. He attended St. Mary’s in Elizabeth through high school and enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years where he received technical training as an aircraft weapons mechanic. He later graduated from NJIT with an associate’s degree and became an Elevator Mechanic at Westinghouse and Schindler Elevator. Throughout his 40-year career, he was known for his hard work and dedication.

Thomas moved to Rahway, NJ after marriage where he raised his family and

to Asbury, NJ to enjoy his retirement years. More than anything, Thomas was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing never-ending stories, playing games, and sharing his love of the outdoors and sports. He loved making others laugh, and consistently brought a smile to all. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Thomas was a devout Catholic with strong faith. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, and watching sports. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He volunteered for the Boys Scouts even after his sons were done with the organization!

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Rita, his brother, Gerald Brennan, his children, Suzanne (Jeffrey) Gallo, Thomas (Michelle) Brennan and Chris (Becky) Brennan, and his 7 grandchildren, Erin (Chris) Kruscavage, Patrick Brennan, Mark (Amber) Gallo, Ryan (Leah) Brennan, Kiel (Catie) Brennan, Moira Brennan and Micheal Brennan.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Mary Ellen Brennan and his sisters, Lorraine Howley and Catherine DiSpirito.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
