Obituary of Franklin G. Cosmen, Sr.

Franklin G. Cosmen, Sr. beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and patriot of Lebanon Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2024, at the age of 93 surrounded by family. Mr. Cosmen was born in Staten Island, NY in 1930. 

After high school, he joined the United States Navy and as a result of his artistic talent, his service included time working as a chief draftsman and illustrator at the Pentagon. Upon concluding his service with the Navy, he attended the Parsons School of Art and Design in New York City. Mr. Cosmen subsequently used his considerable artistic talent for a successful advertising career working for companies including, Lockeed, Celanese, and Siemens.  He also ran his own advertising agency before fully retiring. 

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Hunterdon Hills Sportsman’s Association as well as the Allerton Gun Club. Franklin was an active member of the Host Lodge #6 F.&A.M, in High Bridge and also a member of the American Legion in Flemington.

He is survived by his loving wife Ingrid, his son Frank Cosmen, Jr. (Donna), daughter Glenna Cosmen Johnson (Daniel), 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Franklin G. Cosmen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with this remarkable man.

The family will hold a private service to celebrate his life and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite veterans charity in his honor.
