Have you ever heard of those rare people that leave
everything in better condition than it was before they had came in contact with it? The type of person you walk away from a conversation with and YOU feel 10x more confident and empowered. That’s who Nancy was. She had a magical way of bringing light and laughter into any room she entered while leaving everything just a little bit better, more cared for.
The definition of canonization is to nominate someone who has passed on into saint hood.. And all of Nancy’s lovely attributes could easily put her into the running. However, if you talk to any of the Fitzpatrick’s they’ll tell you - case closed -Nancy is SAINT for putting up with this side of the family for all these years! Who else could put up with 6 kids except a woman who had 7 of her own?!
Has anyone ever heard of the Fitzpatrick Christmas party? What my PopPop subjected poor Nancy to with the card game? I mean we cousins really got into it and it was nothing short of mayhem. So much we bragged about it / used it as a scare tactic to any outsider who was invited- McKenna can surely vouch.
We’ve had the best memories throughout the years. I am so grateful my pop pop found such an amazing woman to spend the second half of his life with. Nancy’s laugh and smile will forever be in embedded in my memory and I hope to carry a bit of her light with me everywhere I go. -Christina Wilson
