Obituary of Kathleen Ann Collins

Kathleen Ann (nee McGuire) Collins, 76, from Stewartsville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was born on September 28, 1947, in Newark, NJ, to Agnes P. (nee Hanlon) McGuire and John P. McGuire.

Kathy graduated from Rahway High School in 1965 and worked as a paralegal. She married John Collins, her soulmate, on June 26, 1992, and she raised three children: Michael, Lisa, and Dawn. Known for her unwavering dedication to her family, Kathy successfully balanced a full-time job with caring for her loved ones. Her passion for cooking, family gatherings, and holidays was evident. Her family always looked forward to her delicious pasta sauce.

With a compassionate heart, Kathy adored animals and cherished watching picturesque sunsets. She found joy in watching competitive gymnastics, especially during the Olympic games, and was a loyal supporter of Team USA. During football season, Kathy could often be found routing on her favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. Kathy also enjoyed suspenseful shows and movies, but her greatest happiness came from creating lasting memories with her family and friends.

Survived by her devoted husband, John Collins, Kathy is remembered by her son, Michael Chicarelli, and his wife Kristie; daughter, Dawn Anderson, and her husband Scott; sisters, Marie Ginda and her husband George, Patricia Mizak and her husband Greg; her grandchildren, David Dalessandro, Brandon Dalessandro, Kaitlyn Chicarelli, Isabella Dalessandro, John Chicarelli, Collin Anderson, Dillon Anderson, and Nolan Anderson; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Kathy’s family for a memorial service on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a service beginning at 5:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.
