Obituary of Therese Perron Summerill

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, Therese Perron Summerill (TPS). Mom passed away on July 14th, 2013, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington NJ. She was born on February 21, 1930 in Schenectady, New York to Mary Agnes Higgins Riley and Charles Perron. Mom had fond memories of growing up in Morristown NJ, where she was raised by her mother and loving step-father, William J. Riley Sr. She graduated from Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison NJ. She obtained her LPN, and worked as a private nurse for several years. She raised her four children, in Mountainville, Hunterdon County NJ. She is predeceased by her husband, Honorable Judge Charles W. Summerill. She is survived by her son Ed Sakos and his wife Mary Jane of Saratoga Springs NY, her daughter Mary Ann Shimp also of Saratoga Springs NY, her son Henry Sakos and his wife Shirley of Pittstown NJ, her son Christopher Sakos and his wife Maria of Hampton, NJ, and her brother, William Riley of Vero Beach Florida. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Vanessa, Timothy, Vincent, Christopher, Renee, Scott and Gregory. There are also eight great grandchildren, and one great, great, grandchild. A celebration of her life will be held during a memorial service to take place on Saturday, July 27th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, we request that you make a contribution to one of these organizations that was close to her heart; The Boy Scouts of America Central NJ Council, The Hunterdon County Library, The Clinton Fire Department, or The Seeing Eye, Inc. of Morristown NJ. We will remember Mom for her generosity and love to the people in her community.
