Obituary of Elisabeth Walther

Elisabeth Walther, age 87, of Union Township, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 22, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Walther was born March 23, 1924 in Lingen, Germany. She was the daughter of the late Paul and the late Berta (Heinze) Thesing. She resided in Dumont, NJ for 30 years before moving to Rhinebeck, NY for eight years and then to Hunterdon County, NJ in 2001. Elisabeth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Her beloved husband, Joachim, of 58 years predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie Leonard of Union Township, NJ, Ingrid Kochakji of West Milford, NJ, and her son, Wolfgang Walther of Tequesta, Fla. Additional survivors include her eight grandchildren and her six great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, January 7th at Central Hunterdon Baptist Church, 325 Route 31, Flemington, NJ from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hunterdon Hospice or to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, 2100 Wescott Drive Flemington, NJ 08822. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Martin Funeral Home of Clinton, NJ.
