Brynn Gaunt

Obituary of Brynn Gaunt

Brynn J. Gaunt, age 71, of Glen Gardner, NJ passed away peacefully in her beloved home, surrounded by her devoted husband and children. Born on November 23, 1952, in Doylestown, Brynn was the cherished youngest daughter of the late Arleigh and Ethel Emmons.

A graduate of Marywood University in 1975, Brynn dedicated over 35 years to a fulfilling career in education. She was the Department Head and a teacher of Family and Consumer Sciences, at Voorhees High School. Brynn was the creator of the beloved Kinder Vikes and Wee Vikes preschool and kindergarten programs, which her own children attended. She was also an educator at Hunterdon County Polytech Vocational School. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as she served as a judge for desserts at the Hunterdon County Agriculture Fair, bringing her expertise and love for baking to the community.

Brynn’s talents and passions were as varied as they were deep. She was an exceptional cook, skilled in sewing and painting, and a dedicated home decorator and gardener. Her love for the beach and collecting sea glass (LBI), antiquing, going to yard sales with her husband, horses, and cake baking brought her immense joy, and her patience, kindness, and spirituality were sources of inspiration for all who knew her. Brynn was also a member the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church.

Brynn will be forever cherished by her loving husband, David Gaunt; her daughters, Desiree Borusiewicz and Dena Thompson (and her husband, Robbie); her son, Derek (and his fiancée, Shay Rocca); and her 7 grandchildren, Zackary, Adelyn, Noelle, Eli, Storie, Brayden, and Mila. She is also survived by her sister Anita Bush and brother Lyle Emmons, who, along with countless friends and former students, will remember her kindness, warmth, and the many lives she touched.

Brynn’s legacy of love, patience, and creativity will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she enriched.

The Gaunt family would like to extend a warm thank you to those who helped care for Brynn at Abington Manor, her memory care facility and also the many family and friends for the support shown throughout the years.
