Obituary of Raymond Joseph Yanofchick
Raymond Joseph Yanofchick, 80, of Califon, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Falls Church, VA. Born on January 4, 1944, in Harrisburg, PA, Raymond was the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Kalada) Yanofchick.
Raymond married his beloved wife, the late Sharon (Lantz) Yanofchick, on April 1, 1967. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared a life full of love and laughter, raising their two children, Todd and Kelly. As a dedicated computer scientist, Raymond worked for many years as a Project Manager at Bell Labs, where he made numerous contributions and lifelong friendships. A member of St. Luke’s Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Ray was also very active in the Califon community and enjoyed coaching his children in various sports when they were younger.
In his free time, Raymond had a love for adventure and the outdoors. He enjoyed traveling, especially to the Florida Keys which held a special place in his heart. Ray also cherished time spent hunting, fishing, and rooting for his favorite team, the Washington Redskins.
Raymond is survived by his loving children, daughter Kelly Hettenbach and her husband, Wayne, and son Todd Yanofchick and his wife, Whitney. He will be deeply missed by his brother Brian Yanofchick, sister, Patrice Smoot, and his cherished grandchildren Henry and William Yanofchick, as well as Tanner and Alexander Hettenbach. Also surviving is his dear girlfriend, Sandra Flynn. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Mary Yanofchick, and his beloved wife, Sharon.
Ray’s legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will be cherished forever by those who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, November 3rd, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ, 08809. A Catholic prayer service will be held on Monday, November 4th, at 10:00AM in the funeral home, followed by interment at the Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
