Obituary of Alexandra Robelo
Alexandra Robelo, age 98, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Born on February 26, 1926, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late Rudolfo Limon and the late Inez (Zazueta)- Limon.
Affectionately known as “Yaya,” Alexandra was a proud graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, where she was honored with the award for “Best Figure.” She pursued her passion for beauty and style by earning her cosmetology license, working as a stylist for high-profile celebrities and clients. Her favorite client was Elizabeth Taylor where she managed the Oray Hairdressing Salon in West Hollywood, California. Her career culminated at the renowned Mr. Kenneth Salon in the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
Alexandra married the love of her life, Mike Robelo, and together they raised three daughters: Lissa, Gilda, and Jacqueline. She always considered her family her greatest achievement and took immense pride in being a loving and devoted mother. Alexandra was a familiar and beloved presence at her daughter Lissa’s business, where her warmth and charm endeared her to everyone she met.
In the last three (3) years, Alexandra gave her time to her community as a volunteer at the Fabulous Finds Boutique and the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, spreading joy wherever she went.
Alexandra will be forever missed by her daughters, Lissa Baker (Bruce Baker) and Gilda Sanchez (Fredrick Sanchez); her cherished grandchildren, Sebastian Leslie, Quinten Leslie, Katherine Sanchez, and Edward Sanchez, her beloved dog Pappy and the countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.
She is reunited in peace with her parents, Rudolfo and Inez Limon Zazueta; her sisters, Gloria Verdugo and Beatrice Shaftel; her brother, Richard Limon; and her beloved daughter, Jacqueline Manrique.
Family and friends are invited to honor Alexandra’s life on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with words of remembrance beginning at 6:00 PM, at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.
Alexandra’s legacy of love, elegance, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
