Obituary of Kenneth Mathiasen
Kenneth Mathiasen of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania passed away on December 20th after a long illness. He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and grew up in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Ken received Bachelor’s Degree in both Music Education and Music Therapy from Shenandoah University and an MBA from Webster University.
Early in his career Ken worked as an audio engineer, touring with many famous rock and roll bands of the 1970’s and 80’s. Seeking a quieter life, Ken became a highly respected administrator for many medical groups in Fort Smith, Arkansas and in Princeton and Flemington New Jersey. He finished up his career working for Redfield Farm, a premier equestrian facility in Califon, New Jersey.
After living many years in Califon, Ken retired to Riegelsville where he indulged in his hobbies of schutzund training with his German Shepherd Dogs and photography. He helped his wife Lisa with her career by often posing for her paintings and children’s books, showing up as rabbits, mice and other animals.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Robert, and survived by his beloved wife, the artist and illustrator Lisa Falkenstern, his brother Robert, of Brick New Jersey, his sister Nancy, of Cresco, Pennsylvania, and his sister Susan, of Chester, Connecticut.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ, 08809 on January 4th, from Noon until 2:00 PM with a prayer service starting at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. To send condolences to the family please visit wwwartinfh.com
