Obituary of Patricia A. Morse

Patricia A. Morse, aged 78, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Flemington, NJ. Born on July 29, 1946, in Somerset, NJ, to Anna G. and Henry J. Huntenburg, Pat was the 6th and final addition to her family.

She spent her early years on a farm in Annandale, NJ, before moving to Clinton, NJ, at the age of 8. Her childhood was filled with simple joys, like walking across fields to attend Clinton Public School, a tradition that ended with the construction of Route 78. A 1964 graduate of North Hunterdon High School, Pat met her future husband, Daniel E. Morse, at just 14 years old. Their love story blossomed, culminating in marriage in May 1969 after Dan’s return from military service. The couple built a life together in Clinton, Union Township, and finally Bethlehem Township.

Pat co-owned and served as CFO of Morse Tree Service from 1974 to 1988, before taking on the same role at Rental Center USA, where her dedication and leadership contributed to the company’s success until retirement. Despite her professional achievements, her greatest joy came from her family. As a devoted mother to three daughters—Pamela Allyson (b. 1973), Julie Ann (b. 1976), and Rebecca Lynn (b. 1979)—she created a loving and joyful home filled with warmth and laughter. Her four grandchildren were the light of her life.

Throughout her life, Pat demonstrated an unwavering commitment to caring for others. She lovingly supported her parents and siblings during their later years and extended her nurturing spirit to her community. Beginning in 2012, she engaged in public service projects with the Country Garden Club and later worked as a Patient Advocate at Hunterdon Medical Center from 2017 to 2019.

Pat found joy in family adventures, from camping with her pop-up camper to enjoying her home on Long Beach Island, the East Coast, and destinations as far-reaching as Aruba and other Caribbean Islands, Hawaii, Alaska and Sedona and the Southwest. Numerous times she hot air ballooned over Hunterdon County and Arizona and generously gifted this adventure in kind. Pat especially loved a recent riverboat trip to Memphis and Graceland as she was a devoted Elvis fan. Her creativity flourished in cooking, crafting, flower arranging, sewing, and making tie blankets, but her greatest passion was creating lasting memories with her family.

A faithful member of South Ridge Community Church, Pat’s deep faith in the Lord was a guiding light throughout her life. She served as a Greeter for several years, sharing her joy and love with all who entered.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Anna G. (née Williams) Huntenburg and Henry J. Huntenburg Sr.; her sisters, Barbara Morse and Mary Ann Duffy; and her brother, Henry Huntenburg. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Daniel E. Morse; her daughters, Pamela A. Campbell (San Francisco, CA), Julie A. Morse and her husband Philip Smith (Seattle, WA), and Rebecca L. Morgan (Asbury, NJ); her grandchildren, Sequoia Campbell, Abigail A. Morgan, and Soren and Silas Smith; her sisters, Joan Fairchild (Clinton, NJ) and Beverly Schneider (Factoryville, PA); and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held on May 10, 2025, at South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Road, Clinton, NJ 08809. Details on the time will be shared at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. www.martinfh.com
