Obituary of Helen R. Frazee

Helen Rinehart Frazee, age 93, lifelong area resident died Tuesday, February 7th at home. Born January 20, 1919 in Lebanon, New Jersey, she was the daughter of J. Arthur and Mildred Young Rinehart. Helen was a 1936 graduate of Clinton High School and a 1940 graduate of Douglas College where she majored in Home Economics. She taught fifth grade at Franklin Township School and Home Economics at High Bridge High School. Helen was very active in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Grandin where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, Women's Association member, and was the first woman elected to the office of Elder. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Women and secretary/treasurer of the Bethlehem Cemetery Association. She belonged to the High Bridge chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Sidney Progressive Grange. Helen also served as 4-H and Girl Scout leader. Her volunteer work continued in the Clinton Women's Club where she served as president and treasurer. Helen was an enthusiastic participant of the Hunterdon County Retired Educators organization. She served as a docent at the Red Mill, she delivered Meals-on-Wheels, and drove for the American Cancer Association. She also served on the advisory board for Senior Health Services of Hunterdon County. She was the loving wife of the late John M. Frazee. She is survived by her brothers Jack and Robert Rinehart, her son J. Thomas, her daughters Linda Michalski, Sara Schundler, her 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved by her family. Nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the Spring.
