Obituary of Robert K. Mikell Sr.

Robert K. Mikell, Sr. age 69, of Washington, NJ passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born February 13, 1943 in Plainfield, NJ. He was the son of the late Robert Hershel and the late Miriam (Brown) Mikell. Born and raised in Plainfield, he lived in New Hampton before moving to Washington 10 years ago. Mr. Mikell was a decorated police officer for the Plainfield Police Department in Plainfield, NJ. He retired as Major of the Narcotics Unit for the Somerset County Prosecutors Officer after 25 years in law enforcement. He enjoyed traveling and was involved with WorldVentures Travel Company. He was also interested in Macrobiotics. He is survived by his children: Tracy DiVittorio and her husband Joseph of Phillipsburg, NJ, Kimberly Petty and her husband Richard of Frenchtown, NJ, Robert K. Mikell Jr. and his wife Christina of Forks Twp., PA and Jennifer Davis and her husband Donnie of Williamstown, NJ; his11 grandchildren, and his siblings, Gail Zimmer, Ray Mikell and Alice Maddalina. The Visitation will be on Sunday, March 25th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday, March 26th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 27 at South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Rd, Clinton, NJ. Friends are asked to go directly at the church Tuesday morning for the service. Interment will be private.
