Obituary of Robert R. Kornberger

Robert R. Kornberger, age 76, of Clinton, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Robert was born September 5, 1935 and was a life long resident of Clinton. He was employed by JCP&L for 41 years before retiring. Bob was a bus driver for North Hunterdon High School for 36 years, where he will be fondly remembered for his many years of dedicated service to the school, its students, athletes and staff. He bartended, for many years, at the Union Gap, Millers and other area establishments. He was a member of the Tall Cedar of Lebanon organization. Bob was also a North Hunterdon High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and a member of the selection Committee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years: Joyce (Schmauser) Kornberger; his loving children: Sharon Cox and partner Frank Cox of Phillipsburg, NJ, James R. Kornberger and his wife Karen of Oxford, NJ, William A. Kornberger and his wife Amy of Lebanon Township, NJ, Lori A. Kornberger of Stewartsville, NJ, Thomas M. Kornberger of Clinton, NJ; his grandchildren: Lindsay Kornberger and siblings Ashley and Jeffrey Cox and his great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his mother: Helen (Mattis) Kornberger; his sisters: Myna Jane Soos of Riegelsville, NJ, Ruthann Beckwith of San Diego, CA, Betty Kornberger of Nazareth, PA., his brothers: Bruce Kornberger of Phillipsburg, NJ, Charles Kornberger of Broadway, NJ, Allen Kornberger of Frenchtown, NJ and Jacob Kornberger of Phoenix, AZ; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father Adlor Kornberger. Visiting hours will be on Friday, May 11th from 2-9pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. Interment will be private.
