Obituary of Ernest J. Subbe

Ernest J. Subbe, age 87, of Easton, Pa. died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Abington Manor Senior Living at Morgan Hill in Easton, Pa.. Ernest was born September 22, 1924 in Stanton, NJ. He was the son of the late Peter and the late Lena (Schiber) Subbe. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. Ernest was a survivor of 5 Battles and Campaigns which included; Normandy, Northern France, Adrennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Ernest resided in High Bridge, NJ for 61 years before moving to Easton, Pa. a short time ago. He was a plumber and worked for Van Doren Oil Company for 37 years before retiring. He was a longtime member of the High Bridge United Methodist Church and he was known to all of his friends & family as an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing. He is survived by his daughters; Jeanne Clawson, Elaine Folmsbee & her husband, Frank, Carol Carling & her husband, William, his sons; Ernest "Skip" Subbe & his wife, Amie, and Peter Subbe & his wife, Laurie Ann, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ernest was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean A. Subbe in 2003 and his grandson, Craig Clawson in 2002. Ernest's Life Celebration includes visitation on Wednesday, June 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Memorial Service held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 8th at the High Bridge United Methodist Church, 40 Church Street, High Bridge, NJ. Family & friends are invited to meet directly at the Church on Friday morning.
