Obituary of W. Gary Bruhns

W. Gary Bruhns, age 71, of Clinton Twp., NJ died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born August 6, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was the son of the late William and the late Cornelia (Lange) Bruhns of Summit, NJ. He resided in Clinton Twp., NJ for the past 33 years. Gary was the owner & president of Apex Plating & Polishing Co., Inc. in Linden, NJ. He served in the National Guard, was passionate about vintage cars and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in nature. Mr. Bruhns was also past president of the Stonewall Gun Club and Linden Rotary, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. As a Rotarian, he joyfully hosted numerous students from around the world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathleen (Traver) Bruhns, his daughter, Kristen Sharkey of Lower Saucon, Pa., his son, Michael Bruhns of Hillsborough, NC, his sister, Dolores Moore and his cherished grandchildren; Ryan, Kathryn, Traver and Enzo. Gary's Life Celebration includes visitation on Friday, June 22nd from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral service held at 11:00 am following the visitation on Friday at the funeral home. The interment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton, NJ.
