Obituary of John R. Scallan

John R. Scallan, age 78, of Washington, NJ died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. John was born October 1, 1936 in Staten Island, NY. He was the son of the late Arthur E. and the late Angela (Varrone) Scallan. He received his Bachelors Degree from Wagner College and his MBA from NYU while working and raising his family. John worked in the Treasury and Finance Departments of Pfizer and retired in 1995 after thirty-two years with the company. John was an accomplished pianist, an avid golfer and a world traveler. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Angela (Varrone) Scallan and his brother Arthur Scallan Jr. Surviving John is his wife of fifty-seven years: Phyllis (Sanquini) Scallan , one daughter: Alison Calder and two sons: Todd J. Scallan and Gregory J. Scallan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of John's Life for all friends and family on Saturday December 27, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 3 Church Street, Hampton, NJ. Following the mass the Life Celebration will continue at the Hawk Pointe Club, 294 Route 31, Washington NJ. The arrangements are under the care of the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809.
