Obituary of Joanne Larson Joe

Joanne Larson Joe, 74, of Harmony, NJ, formerly of Avenel, NJ passed away peacefully on February 16, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Clinton, NJ while surrounded by her loving family. Born June 12, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of the late Joseph Barrett and the late Anne (Minnell) Barrett. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend who cherished being surrounded by those she loved. She made many lifelong friendships while living in Avenel and Harmony and while attending exercise classes at the YMCA in Easton. She always considered these friends to be a welcome addition to her family. Her friends and family will remember Joanne for her warm smile, quick wit, intelligence, strength and the genuine love she showed us all (and of course the outstanding parties she hosted at her home on the river). Joanne is survived by her loving husband Robert Joe, whom she married in 1992, after losing her first beloved husband, Raymond Larson, in 1980. Joanne is also survived by her children, Joseph Larson, Virginia Larson Bukowski and her husband Stephen Bukowski, Kristina Larson Raymond and Michael Larson; four grandchildren, Petty Officer Anthony Raymond (US Navy), Stephanie Raymond, Samantha Bukowski and Teagen Bukowski. She is also survived by her stepchildren Cindy Joe McKee, Timothy Joe, Bonnie Joe Rafter and many special cousins, extended family and loving friends. She was predeceased by her loving younger brother Joseph K. Barrett and her stepson Tracey Joe. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 where family and friends may visit from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Avenel, NJ and interment will immediately follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
