My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Anthony (Andy) Masterson and especially to my sister-in-law Colleen, my brother Jim, and their two children Chelsea and Matthew. I always enjoyed sitting and talking with Andy when I saw him at Jim and Colleen's house. He was special to me because he was born in Newark, my mother's birthplace. Lilly spent some long years watching out for you Andy - your together now, rest in peace forever. Katherine Bystrak Mikel

My condolences on the loss of your Father. He was a great man. I have memories of him back in the late 1970's when I would visit Colleen. Your parents were wonderful and now they are together again.
Love,

Andy was a man's man, an outstanding Fire Officer and a friend. Leading his men at Newark's busiest and best Hook and Ladder Company, Truck 5, fires were extinguished and rescues were made under his leadership. Among his other talents Andy made kitchen cabinets for my brother Gene that all marveled at. Goodbye my friend and may God grant you the honor you deserve.

We are sorry for the effect his loss has on family and friends, but at the same time we are happy for him for the long life he had, and that he is now at peace and reunited with family and friends who have gone on before. I expect he is having a beer with my father right about now.
