Obituary of Florencio Dela Calle
Florencio de la Calle, age 89, of Glen Gardner, NJ died Friday, March 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born March 23, 1926 in Bound Brook, NJ. He was the son of the late Tomas de la Calle Iglesias and the late Eulogia Crespo Luengo.
Florencio moved to Spain as a child and lived on the family farm, which the family still owns today. He was devoted to his faith and his family. His grandchildren gave him much joy and he had a great respect for his Spanish heritage. He found enjoyment in the many hours he would spend putting together his endless jigsaw puzzle collections and his passion for talking walks.
His wife Delfina de la Calle predeceased him in 2001; she was the love of his life.
He is survived by two daughters: Eulogia Tredinnick and Mary Bakley and her husband Barry, one son: Florencio de la Calle Jr; two sisters: Honoria Yaguez of Maryland and Orencia Romero who lives in Spain. Also surviving are his grandchildren Zelenda Hodgskin, Zena Kirby, Ryan, Renay and Evan Bakley, and his Great Grandchildren Michael, Elena and Calyssa Hodgskin, Andrew Kirby and Landyn and Kendyll Bakley.
Gathering of family and friends will take place Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Mass of Christian burial offered at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 1 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ. The Interment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
