Obituary of Donald F. Haggerty

Donald F. Haggerty, age 79, of Glen Gardner, NJ died peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation and nursing Center, Hillsborough, NJ. Donald was born and raised in Jersey City and lived and worked there for many years. Donald, his father and brother owned a tavern called "Haggerty's Bar" in Jersey City. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Iceland, from 1954 until 1956. He was a member of the Gem Vac Veterans in Glen Gardner. Don loved football and was an avid Jets fan. He enjoyed attending car shows, antique cars and worked in the car business for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixteen years, Charlotte (Barbossa) Haggerty, his children, Donna Haggerty, son Brian Haggerty, and Sharon Lyons. Also surviving is his cherished granddaughter Hunter Curtis of California. A celebration in honor of Don and his life will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at the Spruce Hills Club House.
