Obituary of Donald Davis Ferguson
Donald Davis Ferguson, age 88, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mr. Ferguson was born May 31, 1924 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Charles and the late Alice (Davis) Ferguson. He was a longtime resident of Glen Gardner, NJ.
Donald proudly served his country in the US Army and then the United States Air Force from which he retired in 1968 as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) with 28 years of faithful service. He then worked as a federal civilian analyst in New York City where he had oversight of telecommunications contracts during the construction of the World Trade Center Towers. He retired from the State of NJ after many years as a telecommunications analyst.
Donald was a skilled furniture maker and he greatly enjoyed tending to the various family farm animals over the years. He was a life-time member of the Mt. Holyoke (MA) Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his daughters; Laurie of Georgia & Caralynne of New Jersey and his son, Richard of Maryland. In addition he is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Holly, Emily and Aimee. He was preceded in death by Rose Marie, his beloved wife of 64 years, in 2010.
Services were held privately and at the convenience of the family. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Martin Funeral Home of Clinton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to The United Methodist Church.
